He has recently become a picky eater. He will eat a food today and refuse it tomorrow- unless it is pizza. He loves pizza. He also loves cheese and apple juice and anything sweet. He definitely has his mother's sweet tooth.
I am still his safe place, He comes to me when he is tired, hurt or upset. He loves my bare skin- especially my stomach. It is still much softer than I would like, but he finds comfort in the skin to skin contact; and I relish in this. One day it will stop, and then soon he will refuse my hugs all together. My heart breaks at the thought. He still takes a pacifier. I am in no rush to take it away.
He loves being the center of attention and has an obvious flair for the dramatics. He finds great joy in making people laugh. His antics have us in tears at times. He plays very well by himself- something that is both a bit of a relief and also a bit saddening. At times I wish we were at a place in our lives where we could discuss adding a sibling. Most of the time I am not ready to disrupt his world and force him to share our love and attention. Not yet anyway.
He is curious and busy. I swear he walks in the room and surveys it- looking for something to get into. Usually it's the pantry. Daddy is his favorite playmate. He loves to be chased and scared by Ryan. He never gets tired of it. He also likes pony rides and building forts. I love watching them play together.
The last two years have been more joyful and loving than I could have ever imagined. God has truly blessed us with the most amazing little boy. I pray that, with His guidance, I can raise a compassionate, kind, and Godly young man. Those are my hopes and dreams for my son.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
