Holiday Summary- Part One (Getting Ready for Christmas)

December was a great month.  It is so much fun having a toddler for Christmas.  I know he really didn't understand what was going on, but we still had a great time going through the motions and starting so many wonderful family traditions.

We kicked off the season by going and picking out our tree at Piney Acres Tree Farm in Fortville.  We also used the great scenery to get some super cute Christmas card picures of Walker.

After some cocoa and popcorn, we headed home with our tree.  That night, Walker helped Daddy string the lights our beautiful tree.

We also met Grandma at the mall and went to see Santa.  Walker wasn't scared at all!

On Christmas Eve, we went to a beautiful Christmas Eve service at our church.  It was fun having Walker with us and not in the nursery so we could sing carols and celebrate the birth of Jesus as a family.

When we got home, Walker got ready for Santa's arrival

We left milk and cookies...
Walker was in charge of quality control
We hung our stockings...
and we went to bed to wait for Santa!
The big guy must have been so impressed with Walker's good behavior, that he may have gone a little overboard again this year...

More to come soon!

A Day at the Museum

Ryan and I took Walker to the Indianapolis Children's Museum today.  Ryan's Saturdays off are very rare, so we had to take advantage of the opportunity and do something as a family.  Walker had not been to the Children's Museum since he was a tiny baby, so off we went.

We had an absolute blast!  Walker was so happy.  He loved walking around freely.  I was always close behind, but we pretty much let him wander where he wanted.  Ryan's back was sore, so I chased the baby, and he played photographer.  It was a great day, and I can't wait to take him back.  A family membership is the number one thing on my Christmas list this year... assuming we can wait until Christmas!

We ran into Charlotte and her aunt in the Playscape!  Charotte's mom and dad were in our birthing class.

The lightning bugs were really cool.
Do I sense a love connection here?

I have a feeling he may be a percussionist when he is older....

Walker LOVED the water!

Splashing is his favorite.

Pumpkin Guts

Ryan and I also look forward to carving our pumpkins every fall.  This year, Walker helped us clean the guts out of the pumpkins.  He also made sure to taste it for freshness.

After we put Walker to bed, Ryan and I got to work.

In the morning, we introduced Walker to his new pumpkin friends. I think he was impressed.
